This page turns common pattern failures into proper diagnostic direction. It is not a replacement for OEM service information. Always confirm VIN, market, engine code, build date and current software/calibration before quoting repairs.

Bulletin rules before repairs

  1. Check active, pending and history codes from all modules and save freeze-frame data.
  2. Check Australian recall status and OEM service data by VIN, not just model name.
  3. Use the bulletin to decide the next test: voltage drop, scope capture, pressure test, smoke test, actuator command or mechanical test.
  4. Do not sell a known pattern failure unless the vehicle in front of you proves that fault.
  5. Document the evidence: scan report, freeze-frame, live data, photos, pressure readings and test results.

Safety recall and campaign check

Always check VIN-specific Australian recall status before customer-pay repairs. Safety recalls, service campaigns and bulletins are separate from normal paid diagnostic work.
